Swartland Rugby Connect ("the app") is a free Android application that helps South African rugby supporters follow local club fixtures, results, and league tables. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is protected.
When you choose to sign in using Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. This information is stored in Firebase Authentication and is used solely to identify your account within the app.
You may set or edit a display name inside the app. This is stored in your Firebase user profile.
You may use the app without signing in. In this case, no personal information is collected or stored on our servers.
Your followed clubs and competitions are saved locally on your device using SharedPreferences. This data does not leave your device.
Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) may collect anonymous usage statistics such as screen views and session duration. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally. You can opt out via your device's "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" setting.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at rugbyconnectapp@gmail.com.
Local Rugby Hub is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase, which employs industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled entirely by Google.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
